What does a person do when their little playmate is on holiday in the sun?
This week I have my sewing room to myself so I got down to some serious dumfing!!
Well, wet felting first of course to create a woolly background.
Here is the one I started last week - I think I will save this for Maxine to embellish.
AND here is the one I had fun in experimenting with.
This is it with some free machine embroidery added.
One of our greatest sources of inspiration is Marmaladerose.
She makes the most amazing felted pictures and I just wanted to have a go at something different to my usual thing. We usually embellish on top of the background piece whereas Marmaladerose puts most of the detail into her wet felting. It is totally stunning and I can only imagine how tricky it is. Pop over and see what she does.
I hope you have been able to enjoy the late September sunshine. It's been glorious here for the last week.
Well, I will get back to my dumfing.
Have a great week.
Thanks for calling by and joining in with the WOYWW fun!.
x Jo
Great dumfing! It's been lovely here (went to Kew Gardens again last Saturday and took 450 photos... ) but apparently we're only going to get a few more days of it! Helen #2
ReplyDeleteLove your felting, I have bought all the stuff to have a go, and a great book by Moy MacKay, all I need is the time to get started. I love what you did with the stitching, great job

That's lovely, Jo. Well done. Yes, I tend to put the "picture" on top of the background piece - haven't wet felted a design for many years....hmm, now there's something to think about when going up and down the A55.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Now this is something that I admire but will never try... How many crafts can a girl do? I already do so many.... But this seems to involve a sewing machine... Way out of my comfort zone? Great project though. 32
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, love your dumfing as usual - and so admire your machine embroidery. I keep promising myself I will try free motion embroidery one day but so far I haven't gotten around to it ... it's on my list :) Hugs, Elizabeth x #56
ReplyDeleteStill trying to get round everyone this week but not giving up yet.
