Just a little splash of colour in my garden.....
The gorgeous peachy rose came from Annie's old garden but was originally in my godmother's garden so is always known as Aunty Lily's rose. I don't know its proper name but it is a really beautiful old rose with a delicate perfume. It always makes me smile to think of the special family members who have tended it over the years. Thanks Annie!

Have a great weekend.

Hi Jo! Hope you are having a smily Friday!
ReplyDeleteThanks for showing us those gorgeous flowers from your garden. They are beautiful. I do like roses that are fragrant. So often nowadays they are not.
Thank you for visiting earlier,

Lovely flowers Jo. Aunt Lily's rose is gorgeous. I brought an old rose here twenty years ago and it had been in garden of our previous home for twenty four years - I'm guessing it's at least 50 years old - a deep red and smells divine. X

ReplyDeleteAwww lovely bit of colour there. Nice story about the rose. We have Simon's Great Aunt E's rose from London in our garden as well as some flag irises that we err lifted from a friend's farm in Scotland in 1978!! They have been to four different addresses and each time we have moved we split them and taken half.

Isn't it lovely to have so much colour and variety in the garden still. I love the double, double petunia. The rose will always be special. I hope it gives you many more years of smiles. Kate x
