Just my latest knittie to show you and a few fabric brooches that I found in a box - I made them ages ago and will probably pop them into a charity shop sometime.
Below are a few photos that I took at Shrewsbury Flower Show on Saturday.
I just thought that a splash of glorious colour, that is so uplifting, is what we need today.
I know so many of you are feeling especially sad at the loss of a dear friend.
I didn't know Janet - other than through her cheery caring comments on my blog but I know from others that she was a treasure - a funny and feisty lady.
So Janet - this little splash of colour is for you.
Like many, I will be trying even harder to make the most of every day and treasuring friends and family more than ever.
So - have a great week everyone and thanks for calling by and leaving your lovely comments. You are a very special bunch and we are so lucky that we have had WOYWW to bring us all together.
x Jo
Gorgeous flowers Jo and just the perfect tribute to our special blogging friend.

Such pretty flower photos. Loving the little grey colors for the sweater. Oh do enjoy the fun times with school friends. We had a reunion last year and it was great. Since we've lost 4 classmates. Just glad we all made the effort to join in. Things are getting back to normal here...grandkids start school next week, garden is almost done producing, so I can plan clothes for our trip to visit my son in D.C. in a few weeks. I am soooooooooo excited. 2 yrs since we've been able to visit in real life ! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteMy mother in law lives in Shropshire but we always seem to be away on holiday so never make it to the flowers show! Stunning floral displays in your post. X
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and thoughtful blog post - the flowers are a lovely tribute to Janet and also a real splash of gorgeous colour on this dull day we're having 'down south'! I love your latest little jacket too! I hope you have a great week,

Hi Jo, I just have to agree with your whole post this week, Life is far too short and we all need to make the most of every moment..lovely flowers for Janet's memory. Another lovely cardi, enjoy your week RobynO#18
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, lovely words, and all so true.
ReplyDeleteLove the flower pictures, I really, really love Lillies, and those are gorgeous. It's funny, my eldest son and I share almost all the same likes and dislikes, except for Lillies. He loathes the smell of them because when he had his chemo for testicular cancer, the ward was always full of them as the scent is so strong, it covered up the smell of chemo, and nausea, hence now he can't bear them! Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #5 xxx
It is hot and overcast this morning in the Texas Hill Country. Your flowers brought a splash of cheer that only nature can supply.

Lovely way to honour Janet Jo. I can't get over the knitting you do, in a week! I would be at it week after week before producing a cardigan like that. Lucky Ben.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with friends - we are all feeling how precious it is at the moment.

It's kind of fun to find something you forgot you made! I love the knittie too. Your beautiful flowers are the perfect tribute to Janet. I loved the name of her blog, and we did visit back and forth a little. I'm always sad to know we've lost a desker, but I'm sure it's very hard on her family. Thanks for visiting, and have a god week. Sandy Leigh #40
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are fabulous. Such a privilege to be part of this special group where we find friends from all over the world that truly care.

A lovely cardigan, beautiful flowers and a very thoughtful tribute to Janet. Thanks for popping by. Anne x #27
ReplyDeleteHow lovely that you got to hook up with friends. I hope you found some time to have fun through all this sadness.
ReplyDeleteI was also saddened to read about Janet, because she was so kind and caring to me, even though I live a pond away. She sent me the wonderful rocking horse rubber stamp I use each year to make my WOYWW ATCs, so I'm well aware of her goodness. I hope her family takes solace in some of the tributes that have been made to her today.
Thanks for the visit earlier and happy WOYWW from #2, because technically, it's still Tuesday in my world.
Thanks for posting those lovely flowers. And also for dedicating them to the memory of Janet. Like you I didn't know her (but did know of her).
ReplyDeleteI love your latest knittie. I could do with a full size one for this winter. It look really snug.
Have a great week,
