WOYWW

Good morning all!!
I hope it's not too cold and snowy where you are.
We have had about 20cms of snow but all roads are clear so it's not really a problem to us.
I feel very sorry for all the farmers round here who are busy lambing. I guess they may lose any that they can't get into shelter.

My table is covered with dolly mayhem!

I found the idea on Flutterby Patch.
Eli made little dancing dollies inspired by Julia Donaldson's book Paper Dolls. (author of The Gruffalo)

We always make paper dollies for our little ones so these fabric ones (all link handswith velcro) are just an extension of that idea.
Annie showed the twins the proto types that I made last week and Sam's response was... "Wow!"
What a poppet and he is only 18mths old.
So here is my third batch of dollies - these are going in the post for my great nieces/nephew who have chicken pox at present. I thought they would be fun to play with/ count etc.

They are only made with tiny scraps from my scrapbox - a bit like the scrapbox dollies (- another idea from Flutterby Patch) but no beads or buttons etc so safer for tinies to play with. Their features are all hand stitched and the hair and decorations are all securely stitched on.

Well that's it for today.
I am going to make a few Easter cards now, ready to post tomorrow when I go to see Annie and the twins.

Have a great week - keep cosy.
Join in the blog hop over at Julia's Stamping Ground - there are lots more happy crafters out there!!
Thanks for calling in and leaving lovely messages.

x Jo

  2. What a fab idea!! Great for counting and addition and subtraction too....one more, one less etc. Clever you :)
I'm glad you've been ok in the snow. Poor farmers though, as if they haven't had enough to cope with recently......
Keep warm. We've got some weak sunshine this morning, hooray!

  4. Gorgeous. You are so very inventive. Yes, the weather has been pretty horrendous for many, here on the North Wales coast it hasn't been too bad - but we have had snow on the beach in Llandudno this week. BUT - right now, the sun is shining. Have a great week

  5. Love the dollies. Wish I had more time to make some of the lovely, lovely things I see in Blogland. We too had lots of snow and it's snowing this morning. It was difficult on our road as it's unmade and a hill. Ok at moment though so got out yesterday. Happy WOYWW Anne x #84

  6. What a fab idea those little dolls are and a great way to use up your scraps. You must have so much patients because I bet they are fiddly to make though.

    Happy Crafting!

Love the little assortment of dolls, and I had a huge amount of paper ones as a kid, but mom got rid of things daily I think.
It's 6am here and a huge full moon, and our mess of snow should disappear this week!! Whoopie to be in the 50's all week. So car wash here I come. #112 so far. Have a great week and Happy WOYWW

  13. Oh they are so sweet Twiglet. I just love the velcro hands isea, they would make great bunting and with initials on their clothes they could be spelling aids too! How sweet the photo, sort of left to right they're in stages from finished to near naked!

  24. We're big fans of Julia Donaldson here but this book seems to have passed us by! I will look out for it and I love your little dollies - just the sort of thing I would have loved and would love to make for my little girl.
