I call them draught excluders others say draught stopper and some even spell it draft!
Whatever it is - it is a handy item for helping to keep out the cold!
This one is extra wide and made for a special friend's Nan. It is about 114cms - I usually make them about 90cm. It is tailor-made to fit her doorway and to match with her carpet and curtains.
I hope she likes it. I had fun choosing buttons and hand embroidering the decoration.
If you want to see others that we have made - there is a gorgeous black and shades of grey one in our blog shop...

Love draught excluders there Jo. I remember making those back in the days of being a newly wed, but got fed up of Hubby forgetting to put it back and when he did he used his boot! I then thought it clever to use eyelets and attach it to the door, until our dog took a disliking! Give up and make curtains instead!

I remember making one of these in the shape of a long sausage dog for my parents back on the late 60's. Probably still have the pattern stashed away somewhere! These are seriously stylish. hugs Mrs A.

ReplyDeleteThese draught excluders are far too beautiful to be put on my floors, which are often dirty and dog-haired at this time of year.
